Audio problems can stem from a software or a hardware issue, and sometimes it’s not always an easy fix. If it’s a software problem, this can easily be handled at home. Make sure you have the latest operating system. If the software is malfunctioning then it might not be sending the proper signals to your speakers. A quick update can fix this.
Here are some other things to check before you bring the phone in for a hardware replacement:
- Make sure the phone is not set to silent or that volume turned all the way down (really obvious we know, but it does happen).
- Make sure the phone does not think the headphone jack is engaged (which could happen even if the headphones are not plugged in).
- Try turning off Bluetooth, it’s quite possible that the sound is being routed elsewhere.
